Our client, a high profile event management company, is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team.  The role is predominately responsible for the management and accurate recording of all transactions in the SAGE general ledger.


Job Description


  • Reporting to the Financial Controller
  • Manage general supplier ledgers
  • Maintain an accurate aged purchase ledger
  • Reconcile supplier statements on a monthly basis
  • Process invoices and employee expenses on a weekly basis
  • Produce and process urgent payments as required
  • Liaise with internal and external customers to ensure all queries are dealt with efficiently
  • Reclaim VAT where appropriate and post to correct VAT code, including foreign suppliers
  • Prepare monthly multi currency bank reconciliations
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Other accounting, financial and administrative duties
Skills and Experience


  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • Proven experience of working in an accounting team
  • Experience managing accounts payable
  • Experience of working with budgets and invoices in Euros highly desirable
  • Highly organised
  • Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
