We are recruiting for a highly regarded and successful leader in the private equity secondaries market. They have over 10 years of experience in acquiring LP positions in funds of all sizes worldwide. They currently have $7 billion under management.

 

Due to an increase in activity and the continued success of the fund our client is keen to grow the team. This opportunity is for a Senior Associate to join them in their London office.

Senior Associates are involved in the entire life cycle of a deal which enables them to learn about the secondaries market whilst adding to their knowledge in a wide range of sectors.

Job Description

 

As a Senior Associate you would be expected to carry out the following:

 

  • Assisting in due diligence to ascertain investment value and risk for potential opportunities;
  • Conducting analysis and valuation of portfolio companies (using financial modeling to demonstrate your findings);
  • Build rapport quickly to enable you to network effectively, (especially key when sourcing deals);
  • Maintaining up-to-date information on a portfolio’s performance and deal with any problems or queries that may arise.
Skills and Experience

 

Candidates must be highly numerate and display the following characteristics:

 

  • 3-6 years experience within a relevant industry: - buy-side, (private equity, fund of funds, pension funds & family offices) corporate or leverage finance, M&A, strategy consultancy or within the transaction services / corporate finance of a Big 4 accounting firm;
  • Given the global nature of this fund, candidates with additional languages are of particular interest including but not limited to: Swedish, Spanish & French.
  • Strong numerical skills (especially an ability to build a financial model);
  • Self-motivated to achieve results;
  • Proven track record, which demonstrates your strategic and commercial acumen;
  • Confidence to communicate clearly and succinctly, in particular, when building and maintaining relationships / networking
  • Effective research and analysis skills to evaluate potential opportunities and to generate deals.
