Our client is a leading investment management group looking to appoint an experienced Group Accountant to support the Finance team. This role will involve overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and collaborating with international offices. Description

The Group Accountant will be responsible for a broad range of responsibilities including;

  • Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts and provide insights to senior management.
  • Drive the preparation of year-end financial statements and coordinate the audit process.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage banking transactions and reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of intercompany transactions for UK entities, collaborating with various international offices.
  • Assist in the preparation of Group VAT returns and annual tax returns to ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Address complex ad-hoc queries and provide comprehensive support to the wider Finance team, as needed.

Skills

  • Later stages of a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proven experience in preparing financial statements and/or managing audit processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and either experience or desire to mentor junior team members.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse team and contribute to a positive working environment.
