Description
The Head of Finance will lead the financial strategy and operations for the highest revenue portfolio within the group, acting as a key business partner to the MD of the portfolio, and acting as a key link with the various Group Finance teams. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of finance, with full oversight and control of the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow. With a strong focus on revenue, the role will manage FP&A, management reporting, financial controls, processes, and statutory compliance. The Head of Finance has direct responsibility for a Finance Manager and will be supported by the centralised Finance Operations team, also based in the London office. This newly created position will also drive CAPEX reporting, monitoring spend for optimal returns and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
Skills
Specific responsibilities of a Head of Finance will include:
- Own the financial performance of a large revenue-generating portfolio, ensuring robust forecasting, budgeting, and in line with the business strategic goals.
- Act as a business partner to bridge the gap between finance and the business to deliver real commercial insight
- Lead FP&A activities, engaging with the business to facilitate delivering insightful analysis to support commercial decision-making and long-term planning.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and tax filings.
- Lead audit processes and liaise with external auditors to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial evidence.
- Management of cashflow, maximising cash collection and unlocking customer disputes.
- Manage and develop one direct report, fostering a high-performance culture and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with CoE and Group Finance to foster a strong relationship.
- Deliver performance updates to senior stakeholders.
The successful candidate for this Head of Finance role will have gained experience in another medium or large international group, with at least 5 years of post-qualified experience (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent). Experience as a business partner would be extremely beneficial, but as a minimum, all candidates must possess highly developed interpersonal skills in order to influence at all levels across the business. Some form of prior team leadership experience is essential to develop and build a successful site function. As a Senior Finance professional, this person needs to be hands-on and someone who will thrive in a fast-growing culture.
