We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Business Partner to be a senior member of the Commercial Team within a global PR agency, as well as being the key commercial partner for team leads and clients. The successful candidate will have previous experience within a similar industry and act as a trusted advisor to client leaders, providing financial insight that supports growth, profitability, and operational excellence. This is initially a 6 month FTC with scope to become longer term.

Description

The responsibilities of the Senior Business Partner role include, but are not limited to:

  • Advise and challenge Project Managers on new business pricing proposals.
  • Support Project Managers with the development of new business budget proposals.
  • Good understanding of global rates and standard approaches to pricing models (retainer, project, time and materials).
  • Review and negotiate client contracts and partner effectively with the global legal team and UK legal partners.
  • Review all client budgets over £25k in value and all CRM budgets.
  • Draft and negotiate supplier contracts (sub-contractors, talent contracts etc).
  • Advise practices on best approach to data fee pricing and management.
  • Manage the new business pipeline.
  • Ownership of the accuracy of month end revenue.
  • Understand all client commercial terms including pricing of fees, incidental and third-party cost recovery and fee rate review options.
  • Assess client profitability and help to drive improvements.
  • Consistent delivery of working capital targets including WIP and accrued revenue.
  • Review and provide commentary for Commercial Leads on accrued income and WIP.

Skills

The skills of the Senior Business Partner role include, but are not limited to:

  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving financial performance and strategic business outcomes.
  • Expertise in pricing, client negotiations, and financial modelling within marketing /  PR industry.
  • Ambition to improve processes and control environment as well as implementing and managing new business systems.
  • Deep knowledge of accounting standards and financial controls; UK GAAP and US GAAP experience preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) required.
  • Ability to work well with multiple projects and deadlines and deliver in the required timelines.
