Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Temporary Head of Corporate FP&A. Reporting to the Group FP&A Director, the successful individual will support corporate planning and transaction activity (transactions, potential joint ventures and refinancing). This is a key role to start ASAP and is initially for a period of 6 months.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this Temporary Head of Corporate FP&A role will include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate planning processes, from liquidity forecasting through to long term projections to support corporate planning and transaction activity (transactions, potential joint ventures and refinancing).
- Engage cross-functional group and site leadership to ensure planning processes are underpinned by robust assumptions that are understood, connected and executable.
- Prepare presentational materials articulating the key drivers of recent performance and the go forward strategy, for internal corporate planning purposes and transaction activity.
- Own advanced financial planning models (Excel and Cloud based planning tool). Accountable for maintaining the planning models and identifying areas for development to meet corporate needs.
- Oversee the preparation of the group short term cash flow forecast.
- Key finance business partner across all transaction activity.
- Maintain transaction financial planning model to a high degree of accuracy.
- Assist in the ongoing development and refinement of financial and operational KPIs used to assess the success of both business and financial strategy.
- Responsible for ad hoc projects and leading execution of systems projects (e.g. finance ledger, cloud-based planning tool, sales pipeline).
- Work with the Head of Regional FP&A and their team and Group stakeholders to understand the drivers of recent trading performance, commercial pipeline, cost management, deployment of capital expenditure and KPIs and understanding forward-looking action-based plans to optimise performance.
Skills
The skills and experience required for this Temporary Head of Corporate FP&A role include, but are not limited to:
- Qualified accountant, ideally with a Big 4 background.
- Previous experience working in a large group in a similar capacity.
- Previous exposure to transactions, joint ventures and refinancing, supporting diligence, modeling, and planning for corporate actions.
- Previous experience leading and developing a team.
- Advanced user of financial planning systems with exposure to such tools being implemented or upgraded.
- Previous experience working within a PE-backed organisation is highly desirable.
