Our client, a successful media group, is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their London team for a 12-14 month maternity cover. This is a hands-on accounting role with a broad remit. The successful candidate will have substantial accounting experience and be comfortable working independently with high-volume transactions and complex payments. This role requires a May start.
Description
The responsibilities of the Financial Accountant include, but are not limited to:
- Weekly reporting of sales, including trend analysis.
- Set up and process a high volume of payments.
- Raise weekly invoices, credit notes and month-end journals.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare compliance and regulatory returns information.
- Key point of contact for the operations team to deal with any queries.
- Assist with audit, including preparation of supporting reconciliations.
- Ad hoc project work as and when required, including sales and performance analysis.
Skills
The skills of the Financial Accountant include, but are not limited to:
- Previous experience in a technical accounting role.
- Strong Excel skills are essential.
- Excellent attention to detail with the confidence to analyse and challenge the numbers.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with departments outside of finance.
- Ability to work independently.
