Our client, a PE-backed hospitality group, is looking for an Interim Group Financial Controller to join their London team for an initial period of 6 months. You will manage a large operational finance team and take responsibility for all aspects of cash management and group reporting. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with substantial prior experience in a similar role in industry. This role requires an immediate start.

Description

The responsibilities of the Interim Group Financial Controller include, but are not limited to:

    • Lead the shared services team, covering financial accounting, payroll, accounts payable, treasury and fixed assets.
    • Oversee year-end statutory, audit and annual report processes.
    • Lead the Group’s annual budget and planning process, including cash forecasting and covenant management.
    • Oversee balance sheet control and reconciliation.
    • Manage the relationships with lenders, banks, auditors and tax advisors.
    • Produce reports for auditors, banks and other stakeholders.
    • Manage working capital movements to the company’s best advantage.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and that any technical updates are understood by the wider team.
    • Manage the company’s risk management programme.

Skills

The skills of the Interim Group Financial Controller include, but are not limited to:

    • Qualified accountant with several years post-qualified experience in a technical accounting role.
    • Prior experience managing large shared services teams.
    • Experience with cash flow projections.
    • Advanced Excel is essential.
    • Previous experience within a multi-site business would be advantageous.
    • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
