Private Equity backed design company
A high-growth, private equity-backed international business is seeking a Group Financial Controller to play a pivotal role within its global finance function. Operating across multiple regions with revenues in the hundreds of millions, the business delivers complex, project-led solutions to a diverse portfolio of global clients. With an established international footprint and ambitious growth plans, the organisation is focused on strengthening its financial infrastructure ahead of a potential future exit.
Description
Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the Finance Leadership Team, the Group Financial Controller will take ownership of external reporting, governance, and financial control across the group. This will include leading a central finance team, alongside oversight of shared service and regional teams internationally, and fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and financial discipline throughout the organisation.
This position offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders, including shareholders and lenders, and will play a key role in driving improvements in systems, processes, and financial insight.
The successful candidate will assume ownership of group financial control, including responsibility for non-trading P&L and balance sheet items, while overseeing global reporting, consolidation, and month-end close processes. They will manage cashflow forecasting, treasury operations, and foreign exchange exposure, ensuring strong liquidity management across the business.
A core focus of the role will be to maintain robust financial controls, governance frameworks, and audit readiness across all regions, while delivering high-quality, insightful reporting to support senior stakeholders and external parties.
Skills
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with proven experience operating within a multinational environment. They will bring strong technical expertise in financial reporting and controls, ideally gained within a private equity-backed business, alongside a solid understanding of treasury, cashflow management, and balance sheet complexity.
They will demonstrate the ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders, influencing decision-making at a strategic level, and will have a track record of leading and developing high-performing, geographically dispersed teams.
Strong systems and data capability is essential, with experience of ERP platforms and reporting tools, complemented by excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and actionable manner.
A proactive, hands-on approach, combined with high levels of integrity, attention to detail, and a commitment to strong governance, will be key to success in this role.
This represents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance leader to join a dynamic, internationally focused business at a critical stage in its development.
