Our client is a prop trading firm that has been on a steep, upward trajectory over the past decade. They focus on a mix of prop trading (internal capital) and market making, which ensures a balanced strategy through tough market conditions using the very latest technological advances. The business continues to be 100% founder owned and retains it’s collegiate and collaborative culture.
Description
The successful appointee will join an experienced and high-performing team, benefitting from excellent exposure to the inner workings of a fast-paced trading organisation. Distinctive for their core values that are focused around well-being and development, the team are informal and close-knit. Our client have a preference to introduce hires at the junior level, so as to offer progression and development opportunities as the firm continues to expand and people move around.
This will be a great opportunity for either a newly qualified accountant looking to take their first steps into the industry, or someone with 1-2 years of management accounting experience.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Assist with the preparation of management and statutory accounts
- Review VAT and corporation tax returns
- Finance improvement/transformation projects
- Ad-hoc work
Skills
Our client are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 1-2 years post qualified experience, either from practice or management accounting experience in a related industry. You must have a strong academic track record, good verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent attention to detail.
