Our client is a high growth Biotech start up developing more accessible and efficient methods of gene therapy to treat cancer. Having successfully raised significant funds, and with a commercial launch planned for early 2025, they are now looking to scale the finance function by recruiting a Senior Accountant to support the Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer.

Description

Due to the growth and anticipated commercial launch of the business, a Senior Accountant role has been created to continue bringing the finance function in-house. This person will report to the Financial Controller and will be a key member of the finance team responsible for keeping financial records up to date and liaising with stakeholders across the business. Responsibilities will include month end processes and day-to-day financial management alongside the maintenance and creation of policies and controls, and support with developing functions as the business moves towards commercial launch. This is a key hire into the finance team and will work closely with a high quality Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer in a collaborative environment.

Skills

The successful candidate for this Senior Accountant role will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with experience working with smaller, growing businesses whether in an accounting practice firm or within industry. Ideally this person will have experience with Accounts Receivable as this will be a key function to develop as commercialisation continues. Individuals must have an interest in Biotech or medical device development and be able to bring that interest to a company making a significant contribution to cancer treatment. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a high calibre candidate to join a dynamic business with best in class research and development with incredible growth prospects.
