Our client is an international independent firm of specialists offering a broad range of professional services globally. They have been at the forefront of some of the most ambitious and challenging design and engineering projects and make a positive difference in a variety of sectors across the globe.
Due to a need to improve efficiency and increase revenue, we are seeking a highly experienced Head of Finance Business Partnering to be responsible for supporting the UKIMEA Region in order to raise standards in key operational and strategic decision areas. You will take a forward-looking and commercial view as a trusted adviser whilst exercising high emotional intelligence to help articulate different options and influence decisions. The role is pivotal in driving long-term profitability and growth whilst benchmarking against the external economic environment.
Reporting into a Regional CFO, the Head of Finance Business Partnering will be responsible for leading, directing and managing a team of finance business partners with ten direct reports across four sectors and seven UK sub-regions. The role will work closely with the sector leads, the group leads within the sub-regions and the region executives in driving the performance of the business.
In addition, you will develop, deliver and evaluate the overall strategy for the UK business and focus markets and challenge and influence the sector leaders and the group leaders in growing their respective market share. Working closely with the Regional CFO and Head of FP&A, you will deliver the annual business plan and forecasting process such that the submissions reflect challenging, but realistic forecasts with key assumptions benchmarked against internal / external best practice and supplemented with “what if” scenarios and potential risks, opportunities and trade-offs.
The ideal candidate will be a graduate with a professional accounting qualification and potentially an MBA to enhance their financial and business understanding. You will have significant post qualification commercial finance and business partnering experience, preferably in a professional services organisation and be confident, capable and credible with effective communication to influence both peers and senior colleagues. You will be a strong leader and possess proven ability to lead a developing finance business partnering team within a complex matrix structure.
Exposure to digital transformation and changing business models would be highly advantageous as is the need to be a team player with positive “can-do” and proactive attitude with a solution-orientated and goal driven mentality. Technical and managerial competence will be required with impact awareness of specialist areas including accounting, controls and governance, audit, ethics and risk management.
