Group Financial Accountant
Listed Energy Company
- Remote / Central London Offices
- c. £55,000 - £60,000 base + bonus
Our client is an on-shore UK oil and gas energy producer with significant interest in renewables. The business still has considerable potential to be realised from its assets and is trading well despite the challenges to the industry last year.
We are seeking to recruit a Group Financial Accountant to prepare the Group Annual Reports and accounts for UK and overseas jurisdictions and co-ordinate management reporting and intercompany reconciliations. You’ll have exposure to foreign exchange revaluations, and manage the Group’s Savings Investment Plan with Board-level stakeholder engagement. The Group Financial Accountant will review the quarterly and monthly balance sheets and is also responsible for the general ledger. There will be additional ad hoc tasks such as managing the banking relationships, preparing the government statistics returns, and supporting the Finance Director on projects as required.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, having trained with an accountancy practice, with 1-2 years’ post qualified accounting experience ideally gained in a corporate environment. You will have a demonstrable understanding of interpreting and applying new accounting requirements and be able to demonstrate critical thinking with the ability to consider the financial accounting, management accounting, tax and treasury aspects of transactions. You will possess first class communication skills to be able to forge relationships with colleagues across all levels of the business. In addition you will have experience of undertaking financial processes in an industry environment and be able to demonstrate broad, all round accounting experience. Experience in the energy/renewables sector would be advantageous, but is not essential.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join an ambitious energy company at a crucial stage in its growth and offers the opportunity to develop a full rounded financial tool kit whilst gaining exposure to a high quality senior management team.

Please note that due to the expected volume of applications, we will only be able to respond to those candidates whose experience matches the requirements of our client. If you have not heard back from us within the next ten days, please assume you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.
