Our client is an independent, multi-brand distributor with operations that span countries on five continents. They are present in circa 40 national markets and operate as a key strategic partner to the world’s foremost premium brands for whom they provide an effective, well-financed and customer centered route to market.
As a result of internal promotion, we are now looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner to play a key role as part of the Head Office Finance team. You will be responsible for cost control and all group functions spend, including budgeting, forecasting and execution. You will work closely with tax to manage Group cross-charges and group entities statutory reporting. You will play a key role in owning and driving improvements in processes and controls across all areas in Group Finance including management of continuous improvement projects covering P2P, month-end reporting, forecasting and controls. This role represents a unique opportunity to join the Head Office Finance team in a cross-functional role, delivering finance business partnering support across the group functions.
Key responsibilities include providing support to Group Finance Business Partner, through development and provision of insightful analysis on Central Costs and continuously improving Global functions reporting and insight, provide finance business partner support for functional Senior Executives to identify business opportunities. You partner with non-finance functions, developing ad hoc analysis and reporting as required and be a force of proposition in driving improvements. In addition, you will track, report, analyse and challenge head office costs activities, providing insight into costs incurred and actions required to be taken to meet plans/target.
- Engage, influence and guide the finance team in understanding financial impacts and trends
- Design and develop a centre of excellence for recharges and allocation models for costs required to be recharged to markets
- Develop reporting processes and procedures to improve control and efficiency. Guide offshore teams to improve BI cost centre reporting
- Work with offshore shared services finance teams, guide and coordinate reporting and forecasting tasks
The ideal candidate will be a graduate qualified accountant with at least 5 years’ post qualification experience. You will have experience in working in a large corporate head office function, preferably listed. The Business Partner will support/guide and influence various stakeholders through all levels of seniority in the organisation to drive a culture of control improvement and drive actions on projects and initiatives.
In addition, you will need to demonstrate the ability to influence, engage and constructively challenge with a solutions-focussed approach and have a good understanding of financial accounting and business processes. The ability to work collaboratively with all teams is essential in order to gain colleague engagement. You will need to be delivery focused with an ability to work to tight deadlines and be good at problem solving incorporating an analytical and project management approach. Advanced MS Excel Skills are essential and any exposure to SAP, Power BI, Coupa, Concur, BPC and Blackline would be highly desirable.
