Our client is a leading travel company offering expertise in developing a broad range of bespoke tours and holidays for a wide range of overseas customers. They have operations in the UK and Europe and serve customers from all over the world. The company has made a strong recovery since the pandemic and now looks very much on track to get back to pre-covid performance as well as creating a strong platform on which to continue with their growth plans.
Description
We are now looking for a strong Finance Manager who is both technically strong but has the personality and gravitas to take on a broader business partnering role once they have the team and function running smoothly. You will report directly to the Group Financial Controller and will ensure accurate and efficient management and financial accounting and reporting of the UK and Ireland operations. This will be a varied role with ownership of all finance activities including monthly management. reporting, statutory audit, business partnering, financial analysis, balance sheet reconciliations tax, treasury, and a range of strategic projects.
Skills
The ideal candidate will be a graduate qualified accountant with proven experience as a Finance Manager or similar role, with a strong background in managing financial operations, ideally in a PE backed environment but not essential. You will have in depth knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements and be able to demonstrate experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to succeed in this role. Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential and experience with the ERP system NetSuite is a plus. You will have an analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail and be self-motivated to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Key responsibilities include leading, mentoring, and developing a team of Assistant Accountants, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment, including performance evaluation and recruitment where necessary. You will need to prepare, review, and analyse month end reporting processes and ensure the delivery of robust financial information and a best practice accounting and reporting environment. You will need to collaborate with key stakeholders across departments to provide monthly analysis of results versus budgets, participate in commercial meetings across the UK&I business lines and participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
