Description

An exciting opportunity has appeared in the central finance team to join as the Senior Technical Accounting Manager. This role would be responsible for supporting the development and application of accounting policies and support adherence to the companies relevant accounting standards across the group. This will involve regular interactions with the group companies as well as accounting regulators to identify potential issues and recommend solutions. You will report into the Head of Group Reporting as well as support the Group Financial Controller in driving the technical accounting agenda. You will support the reconciliation between the business units’ submissions and the consolidated month and year-end data.

In addition, you will play a key role in the production of the period-end management reporting and year end reporting and assisting key stakeholders, including Tax and Treasury. Input and insight into the development of multifaceted reporting spreadsheets for the board ensuring that it reflects the latest financial reporting requirements.

Skills

The ideal candidate for this Senior Technical Accounting Manager role will be a graduate qualified accountant (ACA, CA or equivalent), with experience in a technical finance / accounting leadership role either within a public practice or having moved on to a technical group finance role in a listed PLC. You will have in-depth knowledge of IFRS standards and UK GAAP, as well as a strong understanding of other key areas relating to financial reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with exceptional communication skills and a demonstrable Excel skillset. This is a fantastic role for either an individual either coming straight from the profession or someone with some previous experience in a corporate group environment.
