Our client is an entrepreneurial technology business with high profile Venture Capital investors. We are seeking to recruit the newly created position of Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to report into the Finance Director and develop a commercial finance function through a very exciting growth phase.

Description

You will be responsible for leading all formal strategic planning, annual planning and forecasting activities. You will provide financial support, expertise and challenge to growth opportunities and ad hoc projects for the Finance Director. With a direct report, you will also develop KPI and FP&A strategy dashboards to better understand business performance and the key drivers behind it. You will interpret business performance, and identify trends as appropriate as well as managing monthly business review preparation. In addition, you will need to be able to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders and teams which are not in your direct control.

Skills

The successful candidate will be a degree educated finance professional with a proven track record in a Financial Planning & Analysis role and will be a highly commercial strategic thinker. You will be a qualified accountant with excellent analytical skills including advanced Excel modelling and extensive budgeting experience as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience gained in a smaller high growth/start-up environment is advantageous and it would be beneficial to have knowledge of or experience with Venture Capital investors, as well as the B2B / ‘Software as a Service’ (SaaS) sector. You will have sound strategic planning skills combined with a strong commercial acumen and have the ability to build robust working relationships across a business. The successful candidate will be confident and assertive, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with directors and other senior employees. You must be comfortable working in an ambiguous environment and be passionate about the technology sector.
