Our client is a market leading technology/sports betting company with an experienced and exceptionally high-quality management team and a leading private equity investor as a significant strategic partner. The business is highly profitable, extremely well-funded, and is growing both revenues and profit at pace both organically and via acquisitions in new markets.

Description

To further support this growth and as part of a more general reorganisation of the finance function, we are currently seeking to recruit a Group Financial Controller. Reporting to the Group CFO, this will be a wide ranging role covering both financial control and other key areas within broader finance to include Contract Management, Procurement, Risk, Internal Audit and Financial Systems Development. The appointee will also have dotted line responsibility for in-country Finance Managers.

Skills

Candidates will have a strong academic profile, an early career in highly regarded international companies and ideally have held a similar senior finance leadership role within broader technology or the gaming industry. Prior exposure gained to M&A or involvement in an IPO at some point in their career would be advantageous. They should possess the gravitas and management ability to lead and motivate a multi-location finance function of c 50 across a number of locations and departments. They should be able to set clear and achievable objectives and ensure that these are delivered upon. It is expected that to support these goals the successful candidate may need to travel up to 30% of the time to additional European locations. More generally the company is operating a hybrid working culture and has a flexible approach to a mix of office and home working.

This is a highly influential appointment in a successful fast-growing technology/gaming company as it enters the next stage in its successful growth story and is considered a key part of succession planning for the current CFO.
