Description

There now exists an exceptional opportunity to join the company in the position of Finance Director, reporting to the key shareholders in what is an extremely broad role. The Finance Director is responsible for the accounting, audit, insurance, tax, banking and treasury requirements of the company, managing a team of two in finance. The role will also maintain relationships with third party advisors and any overseas finance teams where they exist. The Finance Director is tasked with managing the banking facilities and negotiating new facilities as required, co-ordinating the use of borrowing facilities across the group as appropriate. The role will prepare the annual budgets for the group and will act as Company Secretary at the Director’s management meetings, providing both regular and ad-hoc analysis where required.

Skills

The successful candidate for this Finance Director is expected to be highly numerate, articulate and an effective communicator. The Finance Director is required to have a professional accounting qualification and is likely to be educated to degree level. Candidates must be able to display stability and loyalty, along with meaningful experience in a senior financial role, possibly operating at Director level already or maybe ready to step up to the role of Finance Director. Prior experience working in the headquarters of a privately owned business will be a clear advantage, where emotional intelligence is required to guide and advise the owner/directors. Sector experience is not a prerequisite, although prior experience of international finance responsibilities will be a significant advantage.

This role offers an outstanding opportunity to work in a leadership role within a well-established and highly supportive business environment, where the role of Finance Director is crucial to the smooth running of a successful and interesting business with a strong team ethic.
