Manufacturing
Our client is a well-funded, advanced manufacturing business operating from a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the North of England. The business has an established heritage in the development and manufacture of high-performance devices and is entering an exciting phase of transformation and scale-up as it seeks to commercialise next-generation technologies and strengthen its position within the UK’s emerging technology ecosystem.
Description
Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with an experienced senior leadership team and Board, we are seeking to identify a highly experienced CFO to play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company’s financial strategy while supporting the broader commercial and operational agenda. The role will also provide leadership oversight across Finance, IT and Purchasing, ensuring robust systems, processes and governance frameworks are in place to support growth and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities will include leading financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and delivering high-quality reporting to executive and Board stakeholders. The successful candidate will ensure strong financial controls, regulatory compliance and risk management, while providing strategic insight to support major investment decisions, capital allocation and long-term business planning. The CFO will also oversee cash management, procurement and enterprise systems, helping to build scalable infrastructure as the organisation transitions from development into expanded commercial deployment.
Skills
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with significant senior financial leadership experience, ideally gained within a technology-led or advanced manufacturing environment. Experience operating within capital-intensive businesses and working alongside complex stakeholders will be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking and the ability to influence at the Board level, combined with a hands-on approach and the capability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
This is a rare opportunity to join a strategically important organisation at a critical stage of its growth journey and play a central role in shaping its future direction.
