Our client is a Global Investment Firm active in the Special Situations space – focussing on distressed credit, private equity, NPLs as well as residential and non-residential real estate. They are now looking to expand their team by adding an Investment Professional.

Description

As the firm is undergoing global development and expansion, the London office is currently looking to strengthen its team with one additional Investment Professional. This would be a great opportunity to join a lean team of high calibre professionals as you receive a lot of exposure and the opportunity to be a part of something entrepreneurial and rather unique.

In terms of investment areas the firm is active in the Special Situations space; looking at distressed credit, private equity, NPLs as well as residential and non-residential real estate. Whilst maintaining a generalist approach to sectors the firm has a slight bias towards Business Service, Industrials as well as consumer and Real Estate. The existing team has a global mandate, focussing on opportunities in Europe but also the US as they have also meanwhile set up an office in New York.

The individuals in the team mostly have a private equity as well as credit investing background as they take a strong commercial view on investment opportunities with regards to upside potential (rather than being purely focused on downside protection). The founder and head of the firm has over 20 years of investing experience and a very strong track record across the industry and markets. The flexible mandate allows them to operate in most market environments.

Skills

The successful candidate will most likely:

  • 2-4 years of post-graduate full-time experience; this would preferably include at least 1 year of experience in either Private Equity or Credit Investing
  • Thrive on working in a small team of hard-working people where you receive a lot of exposure
  • Strong analytical and technical skills (including financial modelling)
  • Have a strong commercial and strategic judgement
  • Have an entrepreneurial mindset, drive, and strong communication skills
  • Actively seek the opportunity to work autonomously and to take on responsibility quickly
  • Fluency in a European language (verbally and written) would be advantageous
