Our client is an international investor in businesses with specific characteristics. They have a unique position in these markets and are seen as a major force in global private equity investing. Their latest fund, at c.£10bn, will be deployed across a range of industries, with the UK and Europe as a key focus.
Working as part of a small team, the Associate role involves all aspects of the private equity investment cycle:
- Sourcing and screening investment opportunities and working with the founders and/or current owners to assess their best options.
- Formulating the investment thesis and working on all parts of the transaction process.
- Completing investments and then working alongside the owners and/or management teams to enhance value and help steer a route to exit. The team is close-knit and collaborative, with an excellent track record. This is a career opportunity, where individuals can progress in an established platform, surrounded by talented individuals.
Candidates will need at least two years of full-time investment banking M&A experience, probably gained from a ‘bulge-bracket’ firm or similar. Exposure to private equity transactions from an advisory perspective is preferable. In addition to English, another fluent continental European language will be useful. Candidates should be driven and self-motivated, but at the same time, enjoy working as part of a team and within a larger firm.
