We are searching for a Head of Finance the charitable arm of an established and prominent family office. The group of charitable trusts are extremely well funded, distributing these funds across a range of diverse and international programmes. Based in Central London, the organisation is looking to recruit a high-quality professional into the lead finance role for one of its major trusts, in a role that requires a hands-on approach and will offer extensive exposure to the most senior decision makers.
Description
The Head of Finance will lead the financial operations and strategies, acting as a business partner to the senior leadership team, providing clear financial insight and recommendations. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of finance, including full oversight of financial controls, leading the budget, and overseeing risk management and regular project work. This is a pivotal role that supports the wider leadership team and the trustees with financial planning and strategic decision-making, placing finance at the heart of the organisation’s success.
Skills
Applicants for this Head of Finance role must hold a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) and should demonstrate leadership experience whilst still being prepared to get into the detail. The successful candidate will likely have worked in a smaller company and should have acquired broad finance skills across both technical and commercial finance. Excellent communication, both verbal and written, is essential, along with a genuine ability to act as a business partner to peers of all experience levels and backgrounds. The ability to operate outside of the finance function is key, and candidates must possess the emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills required to interact with and influence a diverse audience.
A background in both the private and not-for-profit sectors would be beneficial, but is certainly not a strict requirement, although an alignment with and a belief in the work of the trust is essential. The Head of Finance has the potential to make a significant impact across the organisation, determined by the successful candidate’s ambition and drive to get involved in broader initiatives.
