Education Technology (EdTech)
Our client, a global education technology business, is looking for an International Financial Controller. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience managing internal controls, processes and management accounts for a number of entities across the US and UK. The role is on an initial 6 month contract basis, starting ASAP.
Description
- Lead UK and US entities month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate, timely global consolidation, statutory reporting and accounts.
- Own end-to-end audit delivery for UK and Group, managing external auditors and ensure filing is on time.
- Oversee UK VAT and corporation tax compliance and coordinate with external US advisors on tax filings.
- Maintain rolling cash flow forecasting and weekly payment runs.
- Strengthen internal controls and standardise financial processes across UK and US entities, to improve efficiency and leverage automation to reduce manual errors.
- Manage and develop international accounting teams, coordinating workflows to support UK and US accounting requirements.
Skills
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CA, CPA or equivalent) with previous experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment.
- Experience working in tech, media or software is preferred.
- Team management experience.
- Strong technical background in financial reporting and consolidations, management accounts, and internal controls.
- Experience with accounting systems such as Planful, QuickBooks or Xero is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels.
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced, evolving international business.
