Description

The firm focuses on providing capital and strategic support to promising management teams and their business across the UK and Europe and, more recently, leveraging a presence in Asia as part of their wider growth plan.

Due to increased activity within their portfolio companies, the firm requires additional resource to help manage their workload and improve their capacity to assist with their strategic growth plans. The function itself has a very broad remit, including monitoring, value enhancement, and post-deal M&A, working very closely with management teams and investors to ensure the performance of the portfolio is in line with the firm’s overall strategy and exit plans.

The team is flat structured and reports into experienced senior management that has a wealth of experience and knowledge. The team has a collegiate feel and enjoys a low level of attrition.

The ideal candidate will have at least 12-24 months working in a deal-related environment, likely in transaction services or valuations advisory, and will have a real interest in and motivation to work with post-deal investments.

The duties and responsibilities for this Portfolio Associate – Private Equity role include but are not limited to:

  • Ownership and management of financial and key performance information from portfolio companies, including close collaboration with portfolio company CFOs and Finance Directors.
  • Appraising portfolio information to understand drivers of performance and ensuring that concerns.
  • Managing portfolio touchpoints with the IC, including periodic and annual reviews and preparation of relevant materials.
  • Internal due diligence of portfolio companies, including specific value protection projects.
  • Performing valuations for all portfolio businesses.
  • Playing a crucial role in fund modelling and exit planning.

Skills

The skills and experience required for this Portfolio Associate – Private Equity role include but are not limited to:

  • Strong academic background and educated to degree level, minimum 2:1.
  • ACA qualified, with at least 12-24 months experience working in a deal-related environment (likely transaction services, FDD, valuations or modelling teams assisting on mid-market deals).
  • Desire and motivation to work on post-deal management of private equity portfolio companies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
