Description

Reporting to an experienced Finance Director, this is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified accountant from a mid-tier accountancy firm to move into Private Equity and gain exposure across an incredibly broad remit of finance.

Reporting directly to the Finance Partner, you will be responsible for a wide variety of reporting and analysis for the corporate group and assist with the fund administration of the firm’s investment funds. The firm has an open and professional atmosphere with lots of interaction across the wider firm and participating in company-wide meetings, deal flow catch ups etc. In time the role has the potential to develop into a ‘number 2’ to the Finance Partner, taking on additional and more senior responsibilities as you gain in confidence and skill.

The duties and responsibilities for this Fund & Management Accountant role include but are not limited to:

  • Responsibility for the firm’s General Ledger and accounting systems as well as preparation and review of monthly journals.
  • Oversight and review of the Accounts Assistant.
  •  Preparation and review of the corporate group consolidated financial reports
  • P&L review and analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Development of the quarterly management packs.
  • Liquidity forecasting and analysis.
  • Oversight of the outsourced fund administrators
  • Drawdowns and distributions
  • Assisting with the Bi-annual investment valuations process
  • Calculation of investor returns and carried interest waterfalls

Skills

The skills and experience required for this Fund & Management Accountant role include but are not limited to:

  • Educated to degree level, minimum 2:1.
  • ACA qualified, ideally with experience from a mid-tier accountancy practice firm, having managed varied clients and workloads directly.
  • Hands on management accounting experience is essential.
  • Understanding and interest in private equity fund model / structures.
  • Desire and ability to work across all levels of responsibility, with a ‘no task too small’ attitude.
  • Strong communication skills – ability to clearly communicate in a professional manner.
  • Pro-active approach with excellent attention to detail, quality and accuracy and will take ownership of the role.
  • Someone who is able to work efficiently in a small close-knit team and with a keen interest to develop a career within private equity.
