Our client has developed state of the art technology within the field of urban mobility. With an established product offering, the group has secured significant investment already and is poised to launch a number of new services. An extremely accomplished management team is now in the process of building out a number of key positions that will be instrumental to the next phase of growth.

Description

As a senior member of the management team, the Director of Finance will play a key role in the achievement of the growth of the company. Reporting directly to the Group CFO and currently with 3 direct reports, the role will have the following responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the Financial Control team, including:
    • Completion, review, insight and submission of monthly accounts
    • Developing management reporting
    • Reviewing and building accounting systems, procedures and controls to support the expansion of the company
    • Production, audit and submission of annual accounts and tax returns for 5 subsidiaries and JVs
    • Tax planning and compliance, including transfer pricing and R&D tax claims
    • Treasury and cash management
    • Internal control compliance
  • Overall responsibility for Operational Finance, including:
    • Building the team in London and at our Support Centre in EuropeKrakow
    • Developing the platform to ensure efficient processing of high volumes of transactions in multiple jurisdictions
    • Effective reconciliation and query resolution processes
    • Ensuring compliance with payment processing regulations
    • Effective credit control
    • Fraud prevention and monitoring systems
  • Managing external relationships with banks and service providers, outsourced accounting providers, advisers and auditors
  • Supporting the Group CFO on ad hoc projects and initiatives, as required

Skills

Required Experience and Competencies include:

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Building, developing, motivating and leading finance teams
  • Continuous improvement of finance systems, procedures and controls
  • Experience in a business that has a high volume of transactions and processing
  • Ability to lead a finance team in a start-up/early stage, high growth business
  • Statutory IFRS  financial reporting and international tax compliance

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant with Director level experience or significant experience in a Financial Controller or Head of Finance role, with the ability and ambition to step up
