Our client is a highly profitable international group with continual record of growth over the prolonged number of years. The group operates as a market leader in a number of niche industrial areas, and has always been highly acquisitive in order to deliver growth.

Description

The role will be based at the Group’s principal office in London and will report to the Corporate Development Director. The role will provide an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their skills and experience through a wide exposure to senior management and board directors in a FTSE 250 business, as well as the Managing Directors and Finance Directors across the Group. Working with the Corporate Development Director, the key responsibilities of the role are:

Acquisition Pipeline Development

  • Analysis and review of market sectors to identify suitable acquisition opportunities
  • Engagement with brokers, bankers and investment houses to identify opportunities
  • Relationship development with selective business owners to cultivate relationships

Acquisition Process

  • Analysis and interpretation of financial reports and forecasts from potential acquisition targets
  • Valuation assessments and IRRs
  • Support to financial, legal and commercial due diligence
  • Management of advisors
  • Corporate structuring
  • Support to post-acquisition integration
  • Preparation of reports including Board papers
  • Market data trends and analysis

The role will include some travel to company and acquisition locations worldwide as required.

Skills

The ideal candidate will have the following qualification and skills:

  • Strong financial and commercial interest; ACA / CIMA qualified or equivalent would be beneficial;
  • +5 years post qualification experience working in an M&A boutique or industry;
  • Ideally some experience of a wider commercial role;
  • Exposure or experience of acquisitions process essential;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Well organised and methodical, with strong attention to detail;
  • Pro-active, self-starting and motivated;
  • IT literate with strong Excel skills.
