This is an opportunity for a qualified finance professional to take on a broad Financial Controller position within an international group, gaining exposure to multiple operating businesses and senior stakeholders. The role offers a combination of core financial reporting and control responsibilities, business partnering with operational teams, and involvement in financial process improvement and key internal projects.
The Role
We are seeking a technically strong, commercially minded Financial Controller to join the UK finance team, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. The Financial Controller is a key member of a team that plays an important role in ensuring robust financial reporting, effective financial controls and the delivery of high-quality financial information to both local management and the wider group.
The role will take responsibility for financial reporting across a range of UK businesses, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to both the UK executive team and senior group stakeholders. The role will combine technical financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis and control, alongside involvement in a range of internal projects and process improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing monthly financial reporting across UK operating companies and operations, ensuring accurate, reliable and timely delivery of financial information
- Preparing monthly management commentaries, analysing operational and financial performance and identifying key risks, opportunities and areas requiring further investigation
- Leading the preparation of budgets, forecasts and five-year financial plans, providing appropriate challenge and support to operational stakeholders
- Preparing group reporting submissions, management information and additional quarterly, half-year and year-end reporting requirements
- Monitoring cash flow forecasts and cash management, supporting initiatives to improve cash management across the operations
- Ensuring the effective implementation of group accounting controls and promoting best practice across financial reporting, budgeting, systems and internal controls
- Managing the financial reporting, including the preparation of monthly accounts, budgets, forecasts and longer-term financial plans for a range of group entities, including joint venture and associate arrangements
- Liaising with subsidiary reporting accountants to improve the quality and consistency of financial information and ensure compliance with group reporting requirements
- Coordinating with external auditors and supporting the preparation of half-year and year-end audit documentation
- Driving continuous improvement across reporting processes, procedures and systems, alongside undertaking ad hoc financial analysis and internal projects
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong technical financial expertise and a broad grounding in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial control. They will be comfortable operating in a multi-entity environment, managing competing deadlines and working with a range of stakeholders across both operational businesses and a wider group.
Candidates should demonstrate:

- Experience in financial reporting, management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, ideally within a complex, multi-entity organisation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial performance and communicate meaningful insights

- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial, consolidation and business intelligence systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively across different teams and levels of seniority
