Our client is the UK Private Equity arm of a large and very successful US and European real assets investor. Their approach to investing is differentiated and focussed on lifestyle and leisure businesses which deliver experiences, services and amenities for modern consumers. The continued growth and success of the business has prompted the need to add an additional investment professional to their team.

Description

As an Investment Associate, you will be a member of a close-knit, experienced team. Principal activities will be centred around the identification, analysis and execution of investment opportunities. You will also be involved in supporting the asset management of existing investments, including follow-on investments and investor reporting.

Specific skills and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Accurate modelling and financial analysis of investment opportunities.
  • Providing data to support underwriting assumptions.
  • Assisting in the preparation of investment committee papers.
  • Tracking investment performance of portfolio companies.
  • Assisting with portfolio company strategy and exit options.

Skills

Candidates will ideally have gained 3-5 years' experience in principal investment, investment banking or advisory. This might be in addition to initial training in one of the top tier professional services firms and might include an ACA, CFA or MBA qualification.

Experience must include advanced modelling skills, as well as developing corporate finance/underwriting skills. Strong academics are required, including a high-quality university degree. A 2nd European language is an advantage, but not a necessity.

In all cases, candidates must be entrepreneurial and organised, with a focus on attention to detail. You must have a positive attitude and be able to work effectively under pressure in a team environment. You should have strong commercial acumen and be confident in making decisions.
