Renewable Energy Group
We are working with a leading renewable energy group undergoing significant growth across the Irish market. As the business continues to expand its portfolio and commercial activities, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Commercial Finance Manager to play a pivotal role at the intersection of finance, trading, regulation, business development and operations.
Description
Reporting to the Director of Commercial Finance, this is a highly visible position with broad exposure across the organisation. The successful candidate will lead key strategic initiatives, provide commercial insight to support decision-making, and help drive long-term value creation across a diverse and growing asset base.
The role offers a unique opportunity to influence commercial strategy, optimise financial performance and support investment decisions within a business at the forefront of the energy transition. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities to enhance profitability, managing commercial risk, supporting complex contractual arrangements and ensuring that evolving regulatory developments are translated into commercially advantageous outcomes.
You will play a central role in business planning and forecasting activities, providing robust economic analysis and management information to support operational, investment and procurement decisions. The position will also involve evaluating new business opportunities, supporting capital investment appraisals, developing hedging and commodity strategies, and delivering insightful market and performance reporting.
Skills
This is a commercially focused role requiring strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence decision-making across multiple functions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with trading, operational and development teams to align commercial objectives with broader business strategy, while contributing to the development of a high-performing finance function.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant and hold a strong academic background. You will bring a proven track record of commercial finance, investment appraisal, contract negotiation and strategic analysis within a complex business environment. Experience managing competing priorities, supporting commercial negotiations, due diligence activities, contractual disputes or litigation processes will be highly advantageous. Knowledge of energy markets or trading environments would be beneficial but is not essential.
This represents an outstanding opportunity to join a market-leading renewable energy business in a strategically important role, offering significant exposure to senior leadership, excellent career development prospects and the chance to contribute to the continued growth of a business delivering the transition to a low-carbon future.
