Credit Manager

Our client is one of the leading Media and Entertainment groups. They are searching for an experienced and engaging Credit Manager to lead and manage a large team of at least 10 Credit & Billing Controllers in delivery of all credit collection and billings. This role will oversee the group's credit risk and maximise collections and therefore minimise exposure to bad debt. The successful candidate will have experience within a management role and be a confident, strong communicator with a keen interest in media.


  • Management of internal legal collections process and relationship with third party debt agency, reporting to management on ongoing legal position
  • Ensure specialist accounts are fully reconciled and procedures are in place to resolve queries
  • Deliver proactive professional reporting to business over debt, credit risk, and other key metrics 
  • Review of existing customer credit limits on periodic basis, using early warning reports to flag credit risk
  • Ensure procedures are in place to control the quality of the customer master data
  • Calculation of bad debt and credit note provisions, including quarterly assessment of general provisions
  • Manage, mentor and develop Credit Control & Billings team, setting objectives and regular performance management meetings
  • Build strong business partner relationships with sales and customer service management
  • Provide weekly rolling 3 month cash forecast to management, including actual vs forecast
  • Develop and own the annual credit control calendar and risks log, escalating issues to the Financial Controller, reviewing internal procedures annually
  • Ensure billings process has procedures in place to minimise customer queries and provide revenue assurance to the business, ensuring risks are mitigated
  • Contribute to annual budget process for budgeted receipts by specialist agency and regional ledger



  • Previous experience as a Credit Manager (or similar role) and able to manage and prioritise many tasks
  • Relevant managerial experience including the setting of KPIs to monitor performance
  • Good understanding of media environment preferred but not essential
  • Proven experience in producing board level reports
  • A team leader, role-model and effective communicator to a wide and diverse audience at all levels
  • Ownership of projects and deliverables
  • Confident with a pro-active and “can-do” attitude, able to work autonomously
  • Excellent ability to motivate and drive the team
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Excellent numeric ability, attention to detail, communication skills, and good practical and commercial judgement
