Our client is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join it's finance team. Reporting into the Management Accountant, the Accounts Assistant position will encompass a variety of tasks that would suit an organised individual with excellent attention to detail, studying towards their AAT.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this Payroll / Finance Assistant role will include but are not limited to:
- Accurate processing and payment of temporary workers according to signed timesheets submitted.
- Liaising with candidates regarding any payroll issues and prompt follow-up for any outstanding queries.
- Updating the database with information received and ensuring that data received is filed correctly.
- Generate invoices for temporary and permanent placements in a timely manner, adhering to client requirements.
- Producing client reports to accompany invoices as requested.
- External reporting to HMRC for intermediaries.
- P11D reporting.
- Coding purchase invoices to the correct purchase ledger accounts after approval by the relevant department managers.
- Processing all invoices to the purchase ledger and reconciling the purchase ledger on a monthly basis.
- Monthly payment run of supplier invoices using accounting software.
- Chasing up any outstanding invoices from the various internal departments and liaising directly with suppliers.
- Raising, issuing and processing sales invoices for permanent and contract placements.
- Allocating of receipts to the correct client ledger accounts.
- Updating schedules to recognise work in progress and liaising with each sales team to establish start dates to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
- Posting of all bank transactions to the cashbook.
- Reconciliation of the bank accounts (sterling account completed daily and foreign accounts weekly).
- Month end reconciliations to be reviewed by the Management Accountant and signed off.
- Payment of expenses, reviewing valid receipts and appropriate authorisation of expenses.
Skills
The skills and experience required for this Payroll / Finance Assistant role include but are not limited to:
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position.
- Strong Excel skills and computer literacy.
- Self-motivated, efficient and reliable.
- The ability to work under strict time constraints.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as you will work closely with both clients and candidates.
