Our client, a growing PE-backed education group, is seeking a Part-Time Finance Manager to manage day-to-day accounts. The role could be 3 or 4 days a week or 5 shorter days.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this Part-Time Finance Manager role will include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare the monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, deferred income, and all balance sheet reconciliations, along with associated commentary.
- Handle the monthly forecasting and the annual budgeting.
- Perform the head count reconciliation.
- Prepare Payroll information for the Payroll Company.
- Supervise the Finance Assistant to complete the Purchase Ledger function.
- Prepare invoices and credit control for the sales ledger.
- Deal with other ad-hoc reconciliations.
- Maintain the software system.
- Handle the application requests for government funding.
- Deal with queries and respond in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop good working relationships with stakeholders.
- Complete year-end audit and ensure files and queries are answered by deadlines.
Skills
The skills and experience required for this Part-Time Finance Manager role include, but are not limited to:
- Part-qualified accountant or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a finance-related role.
- Proven experience in performing control account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.).
- Experience of using Xero or a similar package.
- Experience in maintaining and updating cash flow information and making recommendations on short-term requirements.
- Previous multi-site experience would be highly advantageous.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
