Our client is a fast-growing, SaaS business operating across the UK financial services ecosystem. Supporting a broad range of Blue Chip institutional clients, the organisation delivers mission-critical, cloud-based platforms that underpin high-volume transactions and long-term customer relationships. The organisation has the backing of a leading global private equity firm, providing the funding for both organic growth and targeted M&A. To manage the increasing scale, complexity and revenue growth, the business is investing in its finance function to ensure it remains able to support and partner with the wider organisation.
Responsibilities
This is a broad and hands-on Management Accountant role within a collaborative and high-performing finance team. The role will take ownership of core management reporting while providing meaningful analysis and insight to support decision-making across the business, with key responsibilities including:

Owning key elements of the monthly management accounts through to production of monthly reporting packs with variance analysis and commentary

Monitoring and analysing performance against budget and forecast, investigating and clearly explaining variances

Supporting and reviewing purchasing and billing processes whilst assisting and guiding junior team members

Reviewing cash position and contributing to short-term cash forecasting

Delivering ad-hoc financial analysis to support commercial and strategic decisions

Assisting with compliance and statutory reporting, including VAT, corporation tax and statutory accounts
Requirements
Successful candidates must possess a recognised professional accounting qualification, along with a strong grounding in core accounting processes. Demonstrable experience with SaaS business models is absolutely essential in order to understand and account for complex revenue streams generated through both subscriptions and consulting projects. A background in external audit is highly advantageous, with the role suiting a newly or recently qualified candidate looking to make their first move out of public practice. Significant weight will be placed on attitude and mindset, favouring candidates with a proactive, intellectually curious approach and the confidence to challenge constructively. Other valuable skills include a high attention to detail and clear and confident written and verbal communication skills.
The business promotes a genuinely collaborative culture, with finance working closely alongside operational and commercial teams. The company has a hybrid working policy, with an expectation of c.3 days per week in the office to support collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
