Temporary Group Finance Manager

High-Growth, PE-Backed Financial Services

£350 - £400 per day

Our client is a high-growth, private equity-backed leading insurance group. Due to a number of internal projects, an opportunity exists for a professional and dynamic individual to join them for an initial 6-9 month assignment. The successful candidate is likely to be ACA qualified with previous group reporting experience, looking to work as part of a high profile team.


  • Manage the monthly group reporting including delivery of timely, accurate financial information.
  • Challenge the status quo of processes and formalising documentation and controls.
  • Own the monthly group results analysis to PE owners and the Group CFO, clearly documenting and articulating drivers for variances to budget, key accounting judgements, and opportunities/risks to the budget for the year.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting cycles, modelling the balance sheet and cash flow.
  • Produce the group annual report and accounts including the strategic report and subsidiary statutory accounts.
  • Perform quarterly external results presentations and announcements in line with external debt obligations.
  • Support with analysis and insight for external investor queries.
  • Produce technical papers for key judgement areas.
  • Ensure that the group is compliant with all relevant technical accounting pronouncements and standards.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure that appropriate financial controls and processes are in place to ensure accurate and timely production of financial information.
  • Assist with ad hoc finance projects and supporting the Group Financial Controller and Director of Corporate Finance.
  • Take a lead role in critical finance projects, including improving the timeliness and quality of the month-end reporting process and the implementation of IFRS 17.


  • Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent). 
  • Strong academic profile with relevant PQE experience.
  • Previous experience with financial services is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) skills required.
  • Able to work and communicate effectively at all levels of the business including with the Group Financial Controller and external investors or advisors.
  • Technical accounting expertise including a strong understanding of IFRS.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Confident, a self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment.
