Divisional Finance Director

Our client is an award winning publicly listed communications company, viewed as one of the leading suppliers of business communications and cloud services technology to the UK business market. The company has an enviable track record of achieving consistent organic growth, based on its outstanding customer service, excellent network availability and resilience, innovative services and consistent market strategy. The company is currently predominantly focused on providing services to the UK business market, however, it recently made its first international acquisition as part of a broader strategy to build a stronger continental European presence.
We are now seeking a high quality, Divisional Finance Director to lead the UK Direct business which will be a key driver of the group’s future profitability and strategic objectives. Reporting to the UK Finance Director, with a strong dotted line to the Managing Director, you will have responsibility for the day to day financial and commercial activities for the Direct Business, as well as helping to define and implement the overall Direct Business strategy. This is seen as a business partnering role supporting various operational and commercial functions and projects.
The successful candidate is likely to be ACA qualified, or equivalent, with a strong academic background and experience working in a fast moving, high volume sales environment. Whilst a PLC, and a substantial business, the corporate culture remains fast paced and entrepreneurial. Prior experience in a Direct B2B business will be very beneficial for future success in this role. You will be based in the Newbury office with around 30% UK travel required. Strong communication skills are essential as you will be interacting with all levels across the group, and you should be adaptable and able to switch from broader commercial/strategic issues to more ‘hands-on” and operational role.
