Our Client is a leading venture capital firm that partners with ambitious founders through all phases of private company growth. Based in Central London, this is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of a small but dynamic team and offers the successful candidate career progression and the opportunity to work in a high profile role.

Description

  • Preparing monthly management accounts for the UK group of companies performing detailed variance analyses and reviewing schedules prepared by the bookkeeper
  • Preparing the year-end statutory accounts, assisting with audit planning and auditor queries
  • Preparing and filing all returns (VAT, FCA, statistical returns)
  • Assistance in preparation of the annual budget
  • Quarterly portfolio monitoring – corresponding with our portfolio companies, understanding trends, ensuring company data is accurate and complete and preparing reports to partners summarising company performance
  • Maintaining capitalisation tables showing ownership of our portfolio companies
  • Managing monthly payroll and the HR database – including onboarding and offboarding
  • Managing the expense approval and payment run process
  • Reviewing credit card and personal expenses in Concur – in line with company expenses policy
  • Cash management for the UK entities, Lux SPVs and US funds
  • Providing back up data to external tax advisors for preparing Corporation Tax returns
  • SPV and fund invoice management
  • Ad hoc portfolio analysis as required

Skills

  • Strong academics and likely to be at final stages of ACCA/CIMA/ACA
  • Previous experience in a similar accounting role
  • Advanced Excel skills.  Experience in using accounting software such as NetSuite or Xero a distinct advantage
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and structured but quite entrepreneurial environment where things can change rapidly
  • Self starter, capable of making suggestions for improvements whilst also, being someone who is not afraid to ask for guidance
  • Previous experience of assisting with software transitioning advantageous
