Our client, a successful global private equity firm, is looking for a Senior Controller for a 3-6 month assignment whilst the search for a permanent replacement is conducted. Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will have previous experience working across corporate accounting and fund accounting in a private equity business.

Description

  • End-to-end oversight of all aspects of corporate and group accounting and FP&A.
  • Review monthly recharges to the funds and work closely with the administrators.
  • Cash management/treasury including the coordination of the accounts payable and receivable processes, cash forecasts and review team expense claims.
  • Drive corporate tax reporting, monthly VAT reporting and engage with the tax advisors as required.
  • Review FCA returns prepared by third party advisors.
  • Ensure that statutory and regulatory returns are filed on time.
  • Manage the external payroll provider to ensure that salaries are paid correctly and on time.
  • Manage the Corporate Accountant and review bookeeping work performed.
  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts and reporting packs for management.
  • Work with the fund administrators to ensure the timely delivery of the day-to-day activity of the funds and various holding structures, including the production of quarterly investor reports, partner statements, capital calls or distribution notices.
  • Drive the valuation process and portfolio review process with the Investment team.
  • Work with IR to respond to investor queries.
  • Assist on deal execution (tax advisors, accountants, lawyers, Investment team).

Skills

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with relevant experience.
  • Previous experience working within private equity or a debt fund.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work with different levels of management and across different functions and teams.
  • Organised and able to work to tight deadlines.
