Our client, a global media company, is looking for Sole Charge Accountant for a 12-month full time maternity cover. The successful candidate for this Sole Charge Accountant role will be an experienced part-qualified accountant with minimum 3 years experience with great attention to detail.
Ideally starting end of November, the successful candidate will enjoy business partnering and covering all aspects of accounts.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Sole Charge Accountant role include but are not limited to:
- Daily reconciliation of revenue received and bank reconciliations
- Maintaining sales and purchase ledger
- Checking, recording and reconciling staff expenses
- Administrating payrolls for group companies
- Controlling expenditure and preparing domestic and international payments
- Preparing and submission of VAT returns (UK and international)
- Pension reporting
- Review transactions for quarter end and year end reporting including inputting journal entries
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Maintaining intercompany accounts
- Liaising with external auditors and professional advisors
- Creating and presenting financial reports
- Attending meetings
- Assisting with forecasting & budgeting
- Ensure filing is kept up to date and organised
Skills
The skills and experience for the Sole Charge accountant role include but are not limited to:
- Part qualified accountant
- Minimum 3 years working in accountancy.
- Proven experience of preparing accounts to Trial Balance.
- Understanding of accruals, deposits and deferred income.
- The ability to clearly and concisely explain financial information to non-accounting stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
- Ability to build strong and cooperative working relationships with colleagues
- Proactive personality
- Experience of Xero software
- Proficient MS office skills including Microsoft excel
