Our client is a privately owned, international creative media group that owns and controls various businesses which create award winning content. Headquartered in London, the group partners with founder-led companies, investing in high-quality intellectual property across multiple formats and geographies. With a growing portfolio of operating entities and minority investments, the group encourages entrepreneurial energy while providing strategic oversight and governance, allowing its businesses to operate successfully in a highly dynamic and competitive sector.
As the organisation continues to scale and evolve, it has created the new position of Senior Group Reporting Manager, which will play a pivotal role within the central group finance function. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, this position represents a rare opportunity to take full ownership of group reporting in a complex, international structure, with significant ad hoc project work around the financial integration of new acquisitions.
The Role
This is a broad group reporting position that covers the full financial close and compliance cycle and will suit candidates looking for a technically challenging role. You will own the monthly close and consolidation process across all international group entities, ensuring timely, accurate and consistent reporting. Responsibilities include preparing group consolidations, posting technical accounting journals, maintaining detailed balance sheet and investment reconciliations, and producing high-quality management reporting and commentary for senior stakeholders.
At year end, the Senior Group Reporting Manager will lead the preparation of consolidated statutory accounts under IFRS and take full ownership of the external audit process, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors and coordinating inputs across the group. You will also prepare technical accounting papers in areas requiring judgement, including acquisition accounting, impairment, valuations and going concern.
The role has significant exposure to UK and US tax reporting, working closely with external advisers to manage compliance, forecasting and planning across multiple jurisdictions. In addition, you will play a key role in the financial integration of new acquisitions and minority investments, supporting portfolio company finance teams and ensuring consistent application of group accounting policies.
Alongside reporting and compliance, you will oversee group-level bookkeeping, forecasting below-the-line items to PBT, and the ongoing development of systems, controls and processes as the group continues to grow.
The Person
The role requires a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) and the successful candidate will ideally have trained in a leading international accounting practice. Candidates should have a strong technical grounding in IFRS and group consolidations, along with experience managing an audit end-to-end, covering consolidated group and subsidiary statutory accounts. Exposure to UK and US tax reporting will be a strong advantage, as will any experience covering acquisitions, minority investments or equity accounting.
Beyond technical capability, this role requires a calm, organised and proactive individual and a finance professional who will bring structure, consistency and ownership to a demanding reporting environment. You will be comfortable working closely with senior, non-finance stakeholders, with the ability to explain technical matters clearly, and the motivation to understand the businesses behind the numbers.
