We're recruiting a Senior Fund Controller on behalf of a global, multi-strategy investment firm. The appointee will play a key role in deal facilitation and play a pivotal role between the investment team, tax advisers and fund administration team to help successfully close deals.
The appointee will facilitate deals through co-ordinating with various offices and external advisors. This will largely include the private equity investment team, lawyers, tax advisors and the fund administration team. You will be a crucial pivot between all of these parties to ensure deals are successfully completed and can transition into our client's existing fund structures seamlessly. Moreover, you must also be able to co-ordinate a similar process upon exits. In addition to helping close deals you will have a significant contribution to make toward the tax planning and compliance. Again, the appointee will be expected to co-ordinate and liaise with tax advisors, particularly to ensure funds remain optimally structured and tax efficient throughout each fund lifecycle. Your final area of responsibility will be to manage a small team responsible for the fund accounting, reporting and quarterly valuation processes of the private equity funds. Overall, this is a broad, commercial role which plays a crucial and visible role to ensure deals are completed and optimised upon inception, exit and throughout their lifecycle.
The appointee must be a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with significant private equity fund controlling or fund accounting experience. In addition to being a qualified accountant with signifcant private equity fund experience (absolutely essential), you will have experience managing teams and co-ordinating external advisors. Private equity deal structuring or tax exposure within a fund finance role would also be a very useful exposure. You must also be a strong communicator, experienced in dealing with senior management and strong personalities.
