This is an outstanding opportunity to add real value to a market-leading firm with an entrepreneurial and nimble approach.

Description

Our client is a leading firm investing into mid-sized private companies across a range of sectors. It has won multiple awards for investing and fund raising successes and was oversubscribed with investors for its most recent fund. The finance function has evolved and grown over several years to the extent that it now provides meaningful, value-adding support to the investment team and partners. The next step in the evolution of the support function is to make their first, in-house appointment of an individual to take oversight of all the firm's taxation matters. This will relate to the structuring of the firm's funds and investments. Here, the appointee will have an opportunity to add meaningful, measurable and financially significant commercial value to the firm. Additionally, you would also have oversight of all in-house taxation matters such as corporation tax, VAT etc. The appointee will support and closely work with the Partnership, CFO and investment team. You will also directly manage the relationship with the external tax advisor.

Skills

The appointee will be a tax or accountancy qualified (CTA or ACA) having trained in a Big 4 or other top accounting firm. You must have direct experience in private equity tax - this can either be in the context of classic private type investors as well as infrastructure or real estate funds. The likely appointee will either be operating at the Director or Senior Manager level in practice or will be have some in-house tax experience in a private equity or similar fund.
