We are recruiting a Financial Controller on behalf of a Venture Capital fund. Our client is a successful business with a focus on technology investments in Europe and North America. They've had a couple of highly successful exits in the past few years and are in the process of building out the finance and support function. This role is a key appointment and the appointee will be supporting the Chief Financial Officer as the 'number two' in the team.
Description
This will be a broad role, covering all aspects of management company finance. You'll be providing support across financial reporting as well the financial planning and management reporting. Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of the company budget and monitoring actual performance
- Preparation and review of financial statements
- Preparation of investment valuations
- Treasury management, including monitoring of cash reserves
- Management of a small team, including review and sign-off of work produced
- Assisting with the annual audit process
- Liaison and co-ordination of all external suppliers, such as auditors, fund administration and tax advisers, among others
There will also be various projects to support, including helping with the implementation of a new portfolio monitoring tool. Moreover, you'll have significant exposure to the investments as you'll work closely with all parts of the business.
Skills
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA). You must have been working in an investment management firm in London as a Financial Accountant, Finance Manager or Financial Controller.
