We are recruiting a Head of Finance for a large Asset Management firm based in Dublin. We are seeking to explore the London market to find an experienced Financial Controller or Finance Director working in private equity or the wider alternative assets space, interested in relocating or returning to Dublin.This is a leadership role as the number 2 person in finance, responsible for a team of 12 and we are looking for someone able to grow into the CFO position in the longer term.

Description

 This is a key leadership role within the firm with responsibilities across fund and management company finance, as well as providing support around fundraising and transactions. Example responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the finance function which is responsible for internal and external reporting, treasury (including leading fx hedging strategies), audit, tax & corporate structuring, the budgeting process, and the internal control framework and policies.
  • Work closely with the asset management team to ensure optimal financial performance of the assets, including support and challenge as appropriate.

  • Maintain company and investment cash flow projections. Manage corporate debt facilities and fund finance facilities. 

  • Manage and mentor a finance team of 12 professionals.

  • In conjunction with the fund administrators, manage the working capital requirements of each fund, and sign off on calculations and capital calls from and distributions to investors.

  • Working with independent valuation advisors and auditors, manage the calculation and reporting of Net Asset Valuation (NAV) of the funds

  • Manage the annual external audit and financial statements process across the management company and also the funds. 
  • Support the CEO, COO/CFO and Corporate Finance Manager on investor relations activities, including fee and legal negotiations. 

Skills

The appointee must have an accountancy qualification, gained within a highly professional environment (such as a 'Big 4' accounting firm, or equivalent). We expect that the appointee will have at least 10-15 years PQE however it is essential to be operating at the Finance Director, Head of Finance or Financial Controller level within private equity or asset management. Previous team management experience and excellent communication skills are also key.

You must also be prepared to live in or relocate to Dublin as the client is not able to consider candidates who would prefer to work from a remote location, given this is a key leadership appointment. Hybrid working from Dublin however is available.
