Our client is a well-known mid-market private equity firm with offices in the City of London. They are seeking a Fund Finance Assistant to join their Fund Management team, in order to support the firm's growing portfolio of institutional funds. The main purpose of this role will be to support the team in key operational activities and cash management for the funds and subsidiary entities. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is keen to develop excellent experience within a private equity environment whilst working towards their professional qualification.


  • Responsible for bank administration tasks, including the opening of new accounts.
  • Review daily bank reconciliations provided by the fund administrator.
  • Ensure that all internal models are updated for any cash transactions.
  • Provide the bank with all compliance reporting.
  • Responsible for checking and sending invoices for payment to the fund administrator.
  • Liaising with the fund administrator to ensure that the payment log is maintained.
  • Support the Fund Accountant with the production of quarterly investor reports.
  • Prepare year-end financial statements for small corporate entities.
  • Supervising the drawdown and repayment of funds to and from investors by the administrators to ensure accuracy and security.
  • Producing ad hoc analysis relating to the portfolio for use by the Portfolio team. 
  • Review all costs recovered from the funds.
  • Liaising with the fund administrator to log and answer queries from institutional investors.
  • Complete monthly internal stock reconciliations and agree on these with the fund administrator.
  • Complete monthly custody reconciliations for reporting to the Financial Conduct Authority.


  • Degree educated (ideally in business, finance, accounting or a related field). 
  • Newly-graduated or part-qualified accountant. 
  • Strong academic background (2.1 minimum at degree level, A/B grades at A-Level). 
  • High level of numeracy.
  • Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Drive and initiative, with the desire to add value and take a proactive approach.
  • Strong intellect, with the ability to analyse and distil information quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to work to tight reporting deadlines.
  • Strong team ethic.
