Our client is a ground-breaking, South-Africa based SAAS business which has developed an innovative data analytic software, powered by machine-learning technology, to support clients in the gaming and fintech spaces with forecasting revenue and user-growth. Now that they have secured initial funding in the UK and are preparing for a full Series A round in 2024, they are seeking to make their first senior hire in Finance, to be based in London.
Description
We are looking to recruit a dynamic and ambitious financial professional to grow and develop the finance function while also providing support to the senior leadership team in strategic matters. The successful candidate will take real ownership of everyday finance and tax matters, implementing systems and developing the financial reporting framework. As well as managing the regulatory and statutory reporting of the company, they will also develop the forecasting, budgets, and cashflow projections in conjunction with the founders and support the continued expansion plan of the business by participating in fund-raising activities. Although the finance function is presently largely outsourced, the Head of Finance will also be responsible for recruiting, developing, and leading the wider finance team.
Skills
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong technical and analytical skills. You will need experience of the fintech / data analytics sectors, ideally gained across both Blue-chips and VC-backed SAAS businesses. Exposure to fundraising activities, although not absolutely crucial, would be extremely helpful. You will need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and capable of both supporting senior stakeholders distributed between South Africa and London and building a finance team with a strong culture.
