Our client is a small, well-established and highly profitable boutique corporate finance advisory firm, employing ten professionals in London and a handful other others across branches in north America, Asia, and Australia. We are now recruiting a well-experienced Finance Director to replace the long-serving incumbent who will retire later this year.


We are seeking a highly proficient, commercial and pragmatic individual to take full ownership of finance  in this stand-alone role. Your chief responsibility will be the management of all aspects of finance, from day-to-day accounting issues such as month-end reports, management and statutory accounts, and annual budgeting, to the development and enhancement of accounting and reporting systems. At the same time, you will act as a key and dependable business partner to senior management. Furthermore, in co-ordination with an outsourced firm, you will manage the company’s tax affairs across its different jurisdictions, including quarterly VAT returns and corporation tax. Another important responsibility will be the management of the company’s legal compliance obligations under the FCA and relevant equivalent bodies for our client’s international subsidiaries. In addition, you will be responsible for HR, IT, and office management within the business, while acting also as Company Secretary.


The successful candidate will be a highly competent and qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Given our client’s limited scale, considerable exposure to smaller businesses, ideally working independently, is critical. An understanding of the requirements of FCA compliance and reporting is ideal, although not absolutely necessary.
