Our client is a highly successful PropTech company, led by a proven management team who have prior experience of building and selling similar businesses. The Group has developed an AI driven SaaS platform that provides data services and analytics to clients across a range of sectors, from major financial services organisations, utilities companies, service providers and real estate investors, developers and asset managers.
The role will manage all aspects of finance for the PropTech company, as well as taking on other ad-hoc responsibilities for the family office of the principal shareholder. Managing a small, established finance team, this new role has been created to provide support and leadership as the business continues to grow. The FC will primarily be responsible for providing commercial and financial support to the senior leadership team, as well providing financial oversight and performance analysis for the shareholder. The leadership team is now focused on creating value in advance of a liquidity event planned for 3-4 years' time, with the FC playing an instrumental part in this journey.
Description
Core responsibilities of the role include responsibility for ensuring that the financial processes, systems and controls are operating effectively and efficiently, maintaining statutory records for all entities, including some other interests belonging to the majority shareholder. The FC will also provide the Group CFO with insight into to the financial performance of the PropTech business, including specific analysis and KPIs for the various products and teams. Managing a team of three, the role will lead and supervise the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, as well as all day to day transactional aspects of finance. This is a high-profile position, giving the FC exposure to Board reporting, investor reporting and a variety of external advisors.
Skills
- Qualified Accountant, ideally having trained in an international audit firm
- Experience implementing and supervising financial processes, systems and controls in either the data technology or the real estate sector, ideally with exposure to small and large organisations
- Strong people management skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing a small team of finance professionals
- The ability to demonstrate strong self-motivation, project management capabilities and a proven capacity to work under pressure
- Business partnering experience, including strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to influence and build consensus across the company
