Our client is seeking a Senior Cash Accountant on a temporary basis for a nine month period. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accounting processes related to cash, and will support the Cash Manager in oversight of daily operational tasks performed by the cash accountants. This role will evaluate and monitor team checklists, aged open items, and monthly reconciliations then partner with the cash accountants to action tasks accordingly.

Description

  • Monitor & review clearing of incoming and outgoing cash payments
  • Evaluate & monitor aged open items in both SAP cash clearing accounts & TDS Retail Control sales and A/R ledgers
  • Prepare and/or review month end bank reconciliations, aged open item reports, and monitor team weekly task checklists to ensure timely completion
  • Research & resolve aged open items with the wider cash team and escalate to Cash Manager on items >30 days with clear action plans to clear
  • Support the Cash Manager in overall preparation of monthly and quarterly accounts, including co-ordination of all schedules, reconciliations and reporting packages
  • Monitor controls over manual cash payments
  • Complete trial balance reporting packs on all bank and cash reconciliations ensuring that all reconciliations are accurately performed
  • Assist with the identification and implementation of process improvements that will lead to improved efficiencies and controls in the cash accounting team

Skills

  • Part Qualified / Accounting Technician
  • Good educational qualifications preferably with an Accounting background and experience in cash accounting 
  • Strong excel skills
  • SAP experience preferred
  • European language skills highly coveted – German, French, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish or Dutch
  • Experienced performing bank reconciliations and an understanding of all bank and cash transactions
  • Experience with internet business banking, bank mandates, and other banking correspondence would also be advantageous
  • Some management experience a plus.
